Lynnfield Public Library
The Marcia Wiswall Lindberg Room of the Lynnfield Public Library is a treasure-trove for those in search of their Essex County roots, history and other county information. Through purchase and gifts, this room has become a repository of excellent and diversified research material. ESOG volunteers are at the genealogy room on most Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The more than 3,000 books include vital records, genealogies, local (New England) histories, probate records, census indices, materials on the Canadian Maritime Provinces. Available on microfilm are the U.S. Census records for Essex County, and the LDS IGI. In addition another 2,000 books are on microfiche and a collection of genealogical periodicals are also included in the room's holdings. Computers are available which have access to Family Search associate and Ancestry Library editions.
To do an online search for genealogy-related holdings in the Library Catalog, navigate to http://lynnfield.noblenet.org/eg/opac/advanced, select Lynnfield for Library and Adult Genealogy Room for Location, and then enter search terms in the Keyword, Title and/or Author fields.
