Early Lynn Families; including Lynnfield, Nahant, Saugus and Swampscott

A genealogical study from the earliest settlers through the Revolutionary war.  by Marcia Wiswall Lindberg

(Salem, Mass: Higginson Book Company, 2004)

950 pp. , hardcover  $75.00

Two decades of intensive research by the founder of the Essex Society of Genealogists, Marcia Wiswall Lindberg, has resulted in an extraordinary reference work, compiling 81 of the first families who settled Lynn during the great Puritan migration wave of 1630 to 1640. The listing in a single volume, of the names of those original settlers with their descendants for five and sometimes six generations is a one of a kind reference.

This huge book -950pp- includes a brief history of the settling of Lynn and environs, many illustrations, lists of men who served in the 1766 squadrons, a bibliography of major sources used and an easy to read cross-referenced index. The book also contains large sections devoted to the most prolific families including the Breeds, Newhall's, Johnson's and Lewis's.

Early Lynn Families will become a major resource for those researching families in the early years of Essex County.
